The Investigation The
Tip-0ff - Why there are some things
we are not allowed to know.
-We wanted to ask the police if Geoff was or
wasn't known to them before he turned up at the yard to
help them into the office. We wanted to ask but the judge said we couldn't.
Why?
Why Arrest Geoff? -
And what has British Gas got to do with all this?
- The reason the officer gave for arresting
Geoff was that he was the owner of the yard. Except he wasn't and isn't.
Never has been. It's not clear exactly who is. But British Gas have some
ownership over the freehold.
27 Minute Interview -
Why you should always always get a solicitor. -
Geoff was only ever interviewed once by the cops and that was the
morning after he was arrested. Overnight in the cell at Charing Cross Police
Station, he stewed on the fact that the man who called him about the dodgy
brakes had duped him into allowing the cocaine into the yard. What
The Police Didn't Do Next - Misreading the signs.
- No attempt to check Geoff was telling the
truth when he said there was nothing unusual about a foreign lorry being in
the yard. [They are there all the time]. No attempt to look through
Geoff's books to search for any financial irregularities No
meaningful attempt to check out the Mick Barnes lead. The list goes on. Back
